Some notes on the music of 1975 -- the big themes were funk, disco, (and funky disco), but with a strong representation of classic rawk and lots of ghey-hey-hey gloopy pop. I'm probably kinder to the disco now than I was then. The real dark horse -- well besides George Harrison's 'Dark Horse' -- was Kraftwerk's "Autobahn." Believe me, if you were a chemically altered punk riding around in your gigantic rusted-out land shark, burning 27 cents/gallon gas, "Autobahn" was a total mindfuck.
On the teeth-grindingly-bad tip: The Bee Gees -- they ruined falsetto for a generation. On the ridiculous-but-compelling tip, Jimmy Castor Bunch's "Bertha Butt Boogie." That's where that sample of a guy saying "We're going to go back. Way back" that's all over hip hop records came from... |

Wow, I just did this for 98, and out of all the tracks I remember, I liked all of 2 of them. (Deleted comment)

1. It's really cool _Autobahn_ charted when you were a teenager.
2. I can't believe you don't like Lynyrd Skynyrd.
3. Bowie!
Skynyrd were always annoying as hell. I never liked Led Zeppelin either.
Agreed on Zeppelin, at least.
