This was just on Turner Classic Movies, and if you get a chance, check it out. The story is that a professor takes in his orphaned nephew from Nazi Germany, who turns out to be hardcore Hitler-Jugend. It's laughable at times -- well most of the time, but the kid who plays him is pretty creepy, as the review at IMDB says, "a Nazi Dennis the Menace." I imagine at the time -- during the war -- this was an uplifting entertainment, but this kid -- a lying, manipulative, violent little martinet probably gave some kids nightmares.
The weird coincidence is that it came on right after a report on CNN about Panzer Faust Records -- a Nazi skinhead record label from St Paul, MN. The idea of a Nazi kid clobbering his stepsister with a fireplace poker didn't seem so funny after that.
