Richard Clarke [Mar. 26th, 2004|11:56 pm]
Okrzyki, przyjaciel!
I keep reading about this on http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/ and ... this is turning into a huge fucking deal, and the President and his crew are looking horrible, Bill Frist is sounding psychotic, and Richard Clarke seems to be the only person making any sense.

Even though I think that Clarke's whole thing was way oversold. He's not telling us anything new about how things work in the White House. With Bush, err, you're either with him or against him, and on it's face, all of Clarke's testimony and his book are one man's perspective on things. The White House could have said, in effect, we don't remember things quite the way he does but he's entitled in this great country of ours to his opinion.

If they'd done that, this would all be over like that last guy that wrote a book critical of the White House, what was his name? Who cares, that's like 4 news cycles ago, and again the biggest news was all the retarded huffing and puffing that happened at the time, saying they were investigating him for releasing classified documents.

Instead, it's turned into this huge deal, and anyone who doesn't worship at the alter of George W. Bush sees the Republicans acting like street thugs, and Clarke as being entirely credible. I see what could be a winning strategy this fall for the Democrats: The Tar Baby strategy. Throw up targets of opportunity in front of Karl Rove and his crew, and then watch them fall all over themselves to do political hit jobs on the target. The Republicans foam at mouth and look nasty and brutish, the way they do now.
