Queen Constance Band -- The Hot Foot|
Compared with the output of the Salsoul Orchestra, the Queen Constance Band sounds kind of slapdash and sweetly clumsy. These tracks were produced and arranged by Peter Brown and Scott Davis, who as time went by produced many more prominent, polished tracks. But the transparent silliness of "The Hotfoot" wins me over. Apparently trying to start a dance craze a la "The Hustle," it wears its nominal failure on its sleeve. But there's something about the rushed, off-kilter anti-groove of this track that makes it for me, though the stuttery tempo would make this a mixing nightmare...
And if anyone still gives a shit about such things, there's a bare break in the middle of it for someone to bite...
