Computer Questions for which Google has failed me [Jan. 26th, 2006|09:52 pm]

1. Is Windows Vista capable of using Windows XP drivers?
2. Is there a list of devices supported by Windows Vista Beta 1 out of the box?
3. Is their a list of hardware manufacturers who have Vista drivers available?
4. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to having both a wired and wireless network connection active at the same time -- on Windows??

Believe me, someone must be trying to hide the answers -- I spend a lot of time searching the web and I thought I had it down.

1-3: no idea
4: not that I've noticed, I'm sure this works as sales people at work tend to do it from time to time :D It would only be a disadvantage is Windows routes traffic over the slower connection, it's often easy to disable wireless when plugging in anyway...

1. Yes, theoretically... though there are some bugs right now and a LOT of the drivers won't bind and it's not clear why that is. I'm guessing driver compato will be better by beta 2.

2. Probably not yet.

3. Doubtful.
