From From overheard in New York

Chick: Are you Jon Lovitz?
Jon Lovitz: Jealous?

--Union Square

I don't know if this is a true report, but it sounds like something he'd say. It reminded me of how funny Jon Lovitz is. He's one of those actors who never really changes from role to role, he just plays himself, always, but he's always awesome.

He stars in one of my favorite bad movies Mom and Dad Save The World, and has dozens of bit parts in otherwise awful movies. He's the only reason to watch A League Of Their Own with has one of the most nightmarish casts ever: Tom Hanks, Rosie O'Donnell, and Madonna.

My other most favorite bad movie is Super Mario Brothers, which has for me the awesomest cast of all time: Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo, Dennis Hopper, Samantha Mathis (The girl who takes off her shirt for Christian Slater in "Pump Up The Volume"), and Mojo Nixon.

What's your favorite bad movie?

Road House, and it's not even close. That movie is so awesome(ly bad) on so many levels, it's hard to comprehend how it hasn't been enshrined in a time capsule. The film is a case-study in what would happen if you let 12-year-old redneck boys take over a major studio.

Speaking of samantha mathis, I just saw her in "American Psycho" in which she failed to live up to the standard of hotness so briefly set in "Pump up the Volume".

hmmm. I think i have to name a few, as one favorite is too hard to come up with.

The aforementioned Roadhouse
Youngblood (the best bad hockey movie ever)
Hudson Hawk (which i think is awesome but everybody else says is bad)
Tapeheads (Tim Robbins, John Cusack, and awesome cameos from a ton of musicians, including Jello Biafra as a FBI agent)

I'm not saying you can't watch "A League Of Their Own" and enjoy it, and far be it from me to diss anyone for it. I'm just saying that Rosie O'Donnell's method of acting is to YELL, and when the scene calls for emotion YELL LOUDER! And Madonna is a dead loss as an actor. And Tom Hanks... well I hate him just because he's bigger than Belize and Uruguay. And Geena Davis is a space mutant. And Lori Petty I kind of like, but she's got the drudge role in that movie.

Speaking again of bad movies I love (and Lori Petty): I give you "TANK GIRL"

oh tank girl. I love that one as well. If you are mentioning the lovely Lori Petty I think Point Break must also be mentioned.

I think pretty much any Patrick Swayze film is a good/bad movie.
