Lichens opened. The following is the last 15 minutes of his performance, which he did with just his voice, running the microphone into a looper and echoplex. In general looper dudes are boring as fuck but this guy kinda rules. His set was way quieter than Guitar Trio, yet the sound isn't as good. Go figure
By the way, maybe I'm missing something here, but dealing with video kinda sucks. My camera (Panasonic Lumx FZ5) generates MOV files. That, I guess is a quicktime format. Nothing on my computer except the Nero and Quicktime players can open these MOV files, and there's no open source or freeware Windows program that I found that could open and transcode them.
So my pipeline was
1. FFMPEG on the commandline to transfer the MOV to AVI. The magic incantation is: ffmpeg -i input.mov -ar 44100 -r 30 output.avi
-ar 44100 sets the audio sample rate, and -r 30 sets the frame rate to 30. The -r is optional but it keeps the output the same frame rate as the camera's MOV files.
2. Virtualdub to rotate and crop the frame. Then save the AVI file out of VirtualDub.
VirtualDub isn't that bad a program to just do offline video processing, once you get used to how to set up compression and filters.
