|In Berlin Nov 10->Nov 18

Visiting my son Sean, and taking in the city, to which I've never been.|
For this trip I plan to just be in Berlin, which is big and interesting enough for 9 days of bopping around. If anyone's been there, recommendations for activities welcome.
I've had mixed results trying to find good event calendars for November -- http://www.hekticket.de is OK for events with advance ticket purchase. I did notice one kinda funny event -- Lez Zeppelin -- all girls, all Zeppelin. I don't even like Led Zeppelin much, or tribute bands, but extra points for High Concept.
What kinds of events are you looking for in Berlin? We're going to Germany for Xmas, and plan to hop to Berlin for a few days to visit friends...
There's an EXCELLENT restaurant named Azul there. It's fairly well-priced for the kind and amount of food you get. It's mostly German type fare, but has a different twist to it.
I would make sure to visit (for touristy stuff) Checkpoint Charlie and the wall memorial, the Gedaechnisstkirche (the old, bombed out church), the new Bundestag is by far the neatest building I've been in, and close to there is the Brandenburger Tor. The Welt Uhr is interesting over in Alexander Platz, but I wouldn't bother paying the money to go up to the top of the Berliner Funkturm (the old TV antennae).
Also, KauDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens) is the largest department store in Europe, and is always good for a laugh.
As far as EDM related events, I don't know what to tell you. I ususally rely on my friends who live there to know what's going on.
Have fun! I absolutely LOVE Berlin, and it's basically the ONLY city in Germany I see myself living in if we ever have to move back to Germany because of Marc's family.
have told s. to email you.. think he's going to try to connect you with his friend thilo? enjoy!

the reichstag is worth a visit - touristy but the glass beehive thing on top is really cool. good photo ops too, lots of odd mirrors.
and find some of the bits of the wall! i'll try to remember this wicked little turkish district just to the south of the centre where I had amazing food is, begins with an m... although this is 5 years ago now.
If you don't have super lots of planz while there, maybe I'll come meet you?
Email me if you want. The timing isn't super perfect for me, but maybe something could work out.
