err -- slapback echo [Mar. 15th, 2008|11:07 am]
Okrzyki, przyjaciel!
Jo Co Supervisors giving speeches, with a nasty slapback echo and loud fans, because for some reason the West High Auditorium is 85f when it's 30F outside.

I came as an alternate, and I'll be seated as a delegate. Woo hoo!

Terry Neuzil, a supervisor, gave the only dynamic speech amongst the locals. Dave Lobesack, our US Rep, gave a very fired up speech about what he's done in Congress. Which isn't a huge amount, but he's trying. My son Sean is an intern in his US Congress office in DC...

Any truth to the rumors that Hill-bots are trying to muscle away delegates during the delegate selection process?

Not that I've seen. We outnumber them 2:1, so I don't think much in the way of poaching would work. There are 40 delegates up for grabs (out of 300 or so) and I think everyone is lobbying them.

The Edwards delegation is still viable and I believe that they're trying to stick together up through the regional and state convention.

Interesting, I wonder what is the Edwards delegates' game plan? Is the idea to ensure that neither candidate can get their votes until the convention, or do they have something else in mind?

By staying together as a bloc, they get seats on the platform and rules committee. In terms of furthering Edwards' agenda, that means a lot. As for whether they'll send committed delegates all the way to Denver, I don't know.
