|That New Yorker Obama Cover
||[Jul. 14th, 2008|10:12 am]
It's the big political news story of the day -- a cartoon showing Obama in Muslim garb, fist bumping his wife Michelle who is portrayed with an Angela Davis fro and an AK47 strapped to her back. A lot of people are offended -- though I suspect not as many as those who are 'offended.' |
The only problem I have with it is balance -- if the New Yorker was going to balance this cartoon, next week the cover would be of McCain and his wife. McCain would be portrayed hunched over, hanging onto an aluminum walker, with his face in a red-faced scowl. His wife Cindy would be on her hands and knees, chasing a spilled bottle of pills, her face a botoxed rictus of junk-sickness.
