While I'm criticizing the Print Media [Sep. 2nd, 2008|03:47 pm]

The Rolling Stone has stopped employing copy editors or fact checkers, apparently.

In the latest print issue, there's an article about the 10 year anniversary of "The Big Lebowski" in which they call it a "Gulf War Era Film." Apparently someone caught that because the on line version doesn't have that boner. Then, in the same issue, in another article, the word 'wining' appears where 'whining' should.

Coupled with Matt Taibbi calling Tom Delay the Speaker of the House a few weeks back, it sure seems like no one READS the articles before they print them.

Now I get things wrong all the time. But I'm not a high profile mass market magazine that theoretically has people whose job it is to keep stupid shit like this from appearing in print.
