When Wonkette gets it right, it gets it right! [Nov. 12th, 2008|08:57 am]
Okrzyki, przyjaciel!
Wonkette calls John Edwards a 'vulgar sex clown.'

Honestly this guy is the most disappointing politician ever for me. I understand nobody's perfect. But I also think only a person of collosal overweening ignorance would keep running for President even when he knows that it will come out that he's been cheating on his wife. We dodged a bullet there. And with Edwards, it's at least a triple-betrayal -- he betrayed his wife, he betrayed the Democratic party, and he betrayed poor people. He was the most eloquent, level-headed advocate against poverty in the US, and once he was was outed, that issue disappeared from everyone's political agenda.

So do you think that of Bill Clinton as well?

I lost a lot of respect for Clinton over the Lewinsky thing. But the whole Ken Starr/Impeachment debacle made me lose all respect permanently for the Republican Party. Motherfuck those losers and John Wayne.

i guess i am not following something: how did he betray the party or the poor by having an affair? we don't know the situation in his family.

He betrayed the party by continuing to run, even though, if nominated, exposure of the affair could potentially elect another republican.

He betrayed the poor by discrediting himself, the only high profile public figure paying more than lip service to the subject of poverty in the US.
