|Sophia Coppola in NYTimes

Long article in the NY Times on Sophia Coppola, pretty interesting for a couple of reasons:
1. The exploration of the social network around her. It should be noted that this network of nepotism and friends of friends probably had a lot to do with her having a huge article in the NYTimes.
2. Description of the movie she's working on "Lost In The Translation." Starring Bill Murray, who I've always loved. And, Brian Reitzell (of Air) has gotten Kevin Shields to contribute to the soundtrack.
And my family is tangentially tied into the whole Coppola mafia. My father lives in Napa Valley, has put on concerts at the Coppola winery, and knows Eleanor Coppola. And years ago, my brother Ian was in Iowa City when Douglas Coupland was reading at Prairie Lights, and Spike Jonez just happened to be there. This was during the Dirt Magazine days, and Ian had met Spike when he was in Chapel Hill. So I got to meet Spike, briefly before he was a big deal.
For what it's worth, which isn't much.
